Bill Kennedy, President, QBML

With 40 years of experience, Bill Kennedy is President of QBML, which specializes in providing strategic counsel and business development guidance for emerging, high-growth businesses.  Bill is known for his ability to help clients develop mutually-beneficial partnering relationships with substantial revenue potential.  Since 1993, Bill has worked with various companies and several international consulting firms including CGI, The PMMS Group and AD Little.

 

Many companies have also called on Bill for his expertise in the strategic use of customer feedback and highly targeted direct marketing for consumer oriented companies.  He is a co-founder of Faneuil ISG, a customer service provider and pioneer in database marketing whose clients included major telecommunications providers and luxury automobile brands. He has worked with Minacs Worldwide (call centers), Inslogic (internet marketing), Madison Grant (investment banking) and Learnsoft (online accredited university), among others.  Bill’s involvement with start-ups includes NextMove Learning, Enabling Learning, Skills2Buy and Easy Wrap.

 

Prior to this, Bill spent over 25 years in senior management positions at two of Canada’s largest companies. He was Group Vice President of the newly established Crown Corporation, Canada Post Corporation, where he oversaw all field operations, sales and marketing, personnel and labour relations.  He was also a member of the company’s Executive Committee for six years.  Bill began his career at Bell Canada, where he rose through the ranks in numerous positions, including chief labour negotiator.

 

A graduate of Sir George Williams University in Montreal in 1967, Bill also served as a lecturer in Labour Relations in the mid 1970s.  He is married and has two children.

Greig Clark, Founder and Managing Partner, Horatio Enterprise Fund

As Founder and Managing Partner of Horatio Enterprise Fund, Greig Clark is a venture capitalist who brings both money and management to early-stage growth companies.  He also serves on the boards of several small and medium-sized companies. His expertise primarily revolves around sales and marketing for services businesses.  Greig bases his advice on the philosophy that “ingenious offerings and killer service are the winning formula.” 

 

In addition to his work with the Horatio Enterprise Fund, Greig formerly served as CEO of one of the fund’s portfolio companies, ARXX Walls and Foundations, where he is still a board member.  The highly innovative company has streamlined the process for creating poured concrete walls. Sales are currently growing at 20% annually.

 

Greig is widely recognized for his success as an entrepreneur.  In 1971, he founded College Pro Painters while attending university. He began franchising the company in 1976 and was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year in 1979. Ten years later, it had reached $40 million in sales, had 550 franchisees and employed over 4,000 painters when he sold it to The Franchise Company, Inc., a subsidiary of FirstService Corporation.  Today, College Pro Painters continues to be the most recognized and largest student painting company in North America.

 

Before devoting himself full time to College Pro, Greig held several product marketing positions at General Foods.  He served in esteemed brand management positions for well-known products including Tang, Maxwell House Coffee, and Sanka.

 

Greig is a graduate of the prestigious Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario and also studied French culture and history while living in France.  He has been featured in and written numerous articles for trade publications and is active in the entrepreneurship community. He is married with 4 children and 2 stepchildren and lives in Toronto.
